Tigers' Lair Dorsland Cottage is a charming, restored unit located on a working farm in Hardap, just 18 km from Aranos. Surrounded by vast open landscapes and the peaceful rhythms of farm life, this cosy retreat offers the perfect getaway for nature lovers and those seeking a break from the city. 

The cottage accommodates 4 guests and comprises 2 air-conditioned bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and opens onto a private patio with outdoor seating and an outdoor shower. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The shared bathroom is fitted with both a bath and a shower. Linen and bath towels are provided. 

The unit features a well-equipped kitchenette that includes a microwave, an electric frying pan, a mini oven, cutlery, crockery, and a bar fridge. Guests can enjoy meals at the 4-seater dining table. A laundry room with a washing machine is available for guests' use. 

Outside, guests can relax on a lovely patio with outdoor seating and a firepit, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and starry skies. The surroundings near the buildings can be explored, while those seeking more adventure can enquire upon arrival about walking routes, bicycle routes and birdwatching opportunities. 

I’d love to share a few optional extras we offer here on the farm. If anything interests you, just let me know in advance so we can prepare accordingly—especially since we’re a bit off the beaten track and need a few days’ notice. 

Sundowner Drive – A guest favourite. We’ll take you on a scenic drive on the farm, ending on a dune with drinks and light snacks as the sun sets. .  

Meat Packs for a Braai – As a working meat-producing farm, we can offer a braai (grill) pack that includes lamb/beef or game, along with game sausage. 

Side Dishes – If you’d like, we can prepare some fresh side dishes to go with your braai. 

Breakfast Packs – Perfect for your departure day. A ready-to-go pack ideal for enjoying on the road. I’ll send you a picture.

Extras on the House – You’ll receive a freshly baked sourdough loaf, and we’ll provide enough firewood for your braai—or simply to sit around under the stars. If you would like to order some extra bread please order. 

On the Farm – You’re free to explore at your own pace, join in on some farm tasks if you’re curious, or simply relax and take in the peaceful surroundings.
